PERSONAL BOOK CARE TIPS

To make your Legacy Series Journal functionally friendly and long-lasting, it has been given a ‘spiral friendly’ format; structured to accommodate a spiral binding, which is strongly recommended.  Unfortunately, major book vendors and publishing companies do not provide this service, and outsourcing increases the book’s cost considerably, and limits availability. Therefore, the soft covered copies of the Legacy Journal Series come with a regular binding to facilitate the option of the spiral binding, should the owner desire one.

Since the Legacy Series Journals are intended to be passed from generation to generation, the following book care tips are recommended for the soft covered book:

  • Obtain a spiral binding.  Most local office supply stores spiral-bind books for a modest price.  The spiral allows pages to lie flat, and helps prevent the pages from pulling loose if used extensively. Some providers have a protective plastic cover option for spiral-bound books.
  • Reinforce both front and back corners with clear shipping tape, colorful staples, or secured personal pictures and decorations.
  • Store the book in a plastic freezer bag, or personalized removable jacket, if desired, and keep it in a cool, dry place.
  • Avoid shoving the book forcefully into a computer bag, purse, or other carryall.
  • Turn the pages respectfully; avoid pulling or tearing them.
  • When you’ve finished writing your book, consider having it hard-bound before passing it on to future generations.
